Parish Prayer Groups

Emmanuel Charismatic Prayer Group.  The power of the Holy Spirit is present in the songs, praise, worship, spirit-filled teachings, and intercessory prayer of this Charismatic group.  Weekly meetings are held in the Church and a “Mass of Healing” is regularly scheduled.  Whether the need is physical, spiritual, emotional, or relational, the healing touch of Our Lord benefits all those who attend.  For information, contact Terri DeMarco 613-4436.

Eucharistic Adoration.   Eucharistic Adoration, next to receiving Holy Communion may be one of the most endearing acts of worship we as Catholics can offer to God.  It is adoring Our Lord Jesus in the presence of the Eucharist. It involves the contemplation of the Mystery of Christ truly present before us. In His Presence we can watch and wait in silence and open ourselves to His Graces which flow from the Eucharist.  We as Catholics Christians, believing in the Presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist have the privilege of personally visiting Him right here in St. Vincent de Paul Parish following the 8:30 am Mass on every Tuesday from 9:00 until 10:00 am closing with Benediction and Friday from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm (until 5:30pm during Lent 2011), closing with Benediction. The First Friday of the month we pray a Divine Mercy Chaplet at 2:30 pm prior to Benediction.  For information, or to schedule an hour on Friday to spend iwth the Blessed Sacrament, please contact Gerry & Mary Jane Haggerty at 205-8182.

Incarnation Prayer Group.  Every Thursday, following the 8:30 am Mass, The Incarnation Prayer Group continues in prayer for our parish, Father Peter, our Deacons and our Parish Ministries. After prayer the group reflects on spiritual reading followed by a discussion on our Church and our response to God’s call. It is during this time together we grow as individuals in our deepening relationship with Christ, His Mother and our Church.  For information, contact Mary Jane Haggerty at 205-8182.

Marian Servants of the Word Incarnate.  The Marian Servants of the Word Incarnate is an Association of the Christian Faithful of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Orlando. The founding community it located in Clearwater, FL in the Diocese of St. Petersburg. The Marian Servants facilitate the Incarnation Prayer Group, teach and live by the Rule of Life; holiness, obedience and humble servant hood. The primary charism is Spiritual Direction after Certification.  For information, contact Mary Jane Haggerty at 205-8182.

Medjugorge Prayer Group. Persons interested in reflecting on the revelations of our Blessed Mother in Medjugorje meet weekly to respond to Mary’s call to prayer.  Mary asks us to listen to Jesus, and to deepen our love for Him by praying with our hearts, attending Mass, saying the rosary, and offering sacrifices of fasting and prayer for the intention of peace in the world.  Reading the Bible and listening to the Word of God brings us closer to the conversion that Mary asks of us.  For information, contact Claire Bell 751-2614.

Small Christian Communities. Small Christian Communities are gatherings of Christians who regularly meet in one another’s homes or at the Parish.  They come together to pray, to share their human stories and their faith with one another, to read Scriptures together, and to seek ways to respond to God’s presence in their lives and in the world.  There may be groups of five or six, or larger groups of ten or twelve, but all reflect the wider body of God’s people, “the body of Christ.”  Their ministry is the sharing of the Word of God among one another for the good of the community.
For information, contact Connie Accurso 750-3130.
