Pro-Life Intercessions. At the invitation of Fr. Peter and staff, The Respect Life Group recently prepared a series of pro-life intercessions. One per week is now being included in the intercessions being prayed at every Sunday parish Mass.

Officers. Our fledgling Respect Life Group got a big boost when Pat Reavy agreed to serve as its Vice President and Terry DeLucia agreed to serve as its Secretary. With a group of Officers now in place, the group is able to take meaningful steps to take new steps to support the parish's commitment to respect for the sanctity of life from conception to natural death.

Lifeline Newsletter. With the return of most of our Officers and Members this Fall, the Respect Life Group will provide ongoing newsletters for all parishioners. These will appear in the bulletin and website. Besides keeping parishioners aware of pro-life events in the area and relevant national and state legislative developments that need our prayer and vocal expression to legislators, the newsletters will provide reflections for prayer for all life. March for Life. The Respect Life Group is planning appropriate ways for our parish to join in the national mourning of the deaths of more than 45 million innocent children as a result of the tragic Roe v. Wade decision. This year, the grief will be accompanied by a bit of joy as we give thanks for the recent decision of the US Supreme Court that has upheld Congress in banning this dreadful practice.

Crisis Pregnancy Assistance. While no firm plans have yet been made, the Respect Life Group hopes to have a parish "baby shower" after the new year begins to collect items needed by women in a Crisis Pregnancy Center in the area. We'll keep you advised of plans as they continue to develop.

Prayer for Life. The Respect Life Group has a special love for Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Patronness of the Americas and also the Patronness of the pro-life movement. Join us each month in praying to Mary at the shrine after the monthly pro-life holy hour and Respect Life meeting.

Teamwork. The Respect Life Group plans to be in continuing contact with the Conference of Catholic Women, the Knights of Columbus, and other parish groups on steps that we can take together to advance respect for life. Tell us of any other group that may be interested!

Meetings and Holy Hours. The parish's Respect Life Holy Hour is held on the Third Friday of each month, beginning after the 8:30 am Mass. The Respect Life Group's monthly meetings begin immediately after the Holy Hours. The next holy hour and meeting wil be September 21. Refreshments will be served at the meeting. Intercessory prayers for life at Our Lady's outdoor shrine next to the Church will follow the meeting. ALL ARE INVITED!

Your prayers are powerful.
Please spiritually adopt one

this prayer daily.

               Prayer of
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love
you very much. I beg you to spare
the life of the unborn child I have
spiritually adopted who is in danger
of abortion. Thank you for hearing
my prayer. Amen.
