We are very pleased to introduce to you the Council of Catholic Women (CCW) affiliate at St. Vincent de Paul Parish. We are part of the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW), an organization representing millions of Catholic women throughout the United States. We are also active in the Orlando Diocese Council of Catholic Women (ODCCW) and are one of six (6) participating affiliates in the Northern Deanery (of the Orlando Diocese) Council of Catholic Women (NDCCW). Our patroness is Our Lady of Good Counsel.

The primary purpose of the CCW is the unification of all women in religious, educational, social, and service activities for the glory of God. To this end, we assist in a variety of spiritual and material undertakings for the welfare of the parish, our community, our diocese, and beyond.

We are involved in many parish activities and sponsor special events throughout the year. Some activities include an ongoing service project of creating children’s clothes and prayer shawls, an annual concert, a pre-Lenten morning of reflection, an annual fashion show, hosting the annual Lenten Soup Suppers, and partnering with the Faith Formation ministry for the church’s 1st Communion, Confirmation, and May Day celebrations. We support charities that promote the needs of women and children, the local food pantry and soup kitchen, seminarians, Catholic Charities programs within our Orlando Diocese, and NCCW national projects. The St. Vincent de Paul CCW normally meets on the last Tuesday of each month from September through April (except December) in the social hall with a variety of speakers, socials, and presentations on informative topics. We publish a monthly newsletter and include announcements of special CCW events in the weekly church bulletin, on the in-church message boards, from the ambo before Mass, on this website, and in our new MyParish app for Apple and Android devices.

We hope you investigate and join the St. Vincent de Paul CCW, encouraging you to become actively involved in our ministry of spiritual, service, and leadership commissions. Our motto for this year is: Practice stewardship of time, talent, and treasure.

May you always know and appreciate God’s blessings of light, love, and peace!  Elsie Esseck, 2016-2017 StVdP CCW President
