On the evening of August 8 the parish held a farewell party for Nancy and Joe Hathaway. We had a large turnout and an abundance of wonderful food provided by parishioners. The special treat, though, was the sing-a-long, led and accompanied by Dr. Joe, the Accordion Wizard.
Dr. Joe, who has directed our music program for almost four years, is retiring. He and Nancy look forward to moving into their newly built retirement home in Tennessee and spending more time with their children and grandchildren. We will miss Joe's music, and we will all miss Nancy, usher extraordinaire and Jill of all trades.

the Accordion Wizard
Fr. Peter and Maxine danced a little polka to Joe's accompaniment
Nancy Hathaway smiled tolerantly as her husband entertained
Joe and Norton led the singing of some old (very, very old) songs
The turnout was wonderful...and there's Joe, still playing. The man was born to entertain.
...and it wasn't just us old folks who enjoyed the festivities.
Nancy gave her approval to the goodies.
...and the rest of us agreed.
Not only can he play...but he can schmooze too.
Everyone had a wonderful time.
We wish this wonderful, faith-filled couple all the best. May God be with you both always.
