Parish Intercession for Reversal of Roe v. Wade
The Respect Life Group sponsored a Day of Intercession on Tuesday, Jan. 22: the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. The day marked a time of intercession to end Roe's tragic legacy that has already cost more than 48 million innocent lives to abortion.
Following Mass, members of the Respect Life Group joined other parishioners in two hours of Eucharistic Adoration and a rosary led by Fr. Peter "for the reversal of Roe v. Wade."
Deacon Walter genuflects after reposing the Holy Eucharist following the hours of adoration and intercession for unborn life.
Prayer for life followed at Our Lady's Shrine and the marker in memory of the Unborn Child.
Members of the Respect Life Group then joined an interfaith prayer witness sponsored by the Tri-County Right to Life Group at St. Timothy's.
The interfaith gathering brought together people of many faiths for prayer, song, talks and personal witnesses.
Fr. Bob of St. Tim's invited the group to join in prayer.
Pastor Jim, President of Tri-County Right to Life, introduced each speaker and led the group in prayer, song and reflection as other area ministers offered exhortations.
Fr. Jerry Shovelton of St. Tim's exhorted the priests, ministers and laity to join in work and witness to life.
Wanda from the Pregnancy Care Center in Leesburg introduced a woman, 7 months pregnant, who told the group how she decided against having an abortion with help of pro-life volunteers and how she has gained new awareness of the sacred life within her.
