The Diocese of St. Augustine sponsored a March for Life on Sunday, January 20. Deacon Dana and his wife, Diane, represented our parish joining dozens of pilgrims from the Orlando diocese and hundreds of others from throughout the state who took part.
The pilgrims from the Northern Deanery of the Diocese of Orlando. Members of the youth group from Our Lady of the Springs Parish in Ocala (left) joined us for the bus ride to St. Augustine.
A moving memorial to the unborn victims of abortion...right on the main street for all to see.
The Knights of Columbus form an honor guard in front of the Cathedral and pay tribute to the pilgrims who took part in the March. God bless the Knights for their continued, strong pro-life advocacy.
This Christian rock band headed by guitarist and vocalist Lucio "Lu" Robino, entertained us all after the March with their inspirational and pro-life music. Even us old folks liked them.
Young people (who seemed to outnumber the rest of us) share a wonderful message with their peers.
Who says there are no vocations? We were blessed by the presence of four sisters of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. The order was founded in 1997 with four sisters. After only 10 years there are now over 70 sisters with an average age of 28. The average age of the women who enter is just 24.
Three of the four sisters we met teach elementary school while the fourth is studying theology at Ave Maria University in Naples, Florida. God bless them!
